Tourists who want to spend their summer holidays on the beaches of Bibione and Lignano think about going on a day trip to Venice. You begin to imagine yourself strolling through the narrow and picturesque streets, admiring the unique San Marco square.
The daydream can be quickly end, because as everyone knows, Venice, although a city of incredible and incomparable beauty, is not as easy to reach as other cities. So how to reach Venice from Bibione and Lignano?
Arriving at the Venice – S. Lucia train station or in Piazzale Roma, you have two options to reach St. Mark’s Square and the close monuments: walk for an hour, juggling between streets, bridges and tourists (often impractical with children and strollers) or use the vaporetto service, that takes an hour to reach St. Mark’s Square.
Many discouraged tourists give up the idea of visiting the city that Woody Allen has described as “the most romantic place on earth”, unaware that there are other ways to visit Venice and reach San Marco square.
